Peach Casserole with Marble Cake Mix

Comments
This is another recipe that I thought this was a 1960s version of a dump cake. But I am not sure. Like the other one, it refers to cake mix batter, but doesn't make it clear if this means you make the cake mix as directed on the package, or if you dump in the dry mix like in a dump cake.
Ingredients
1 pkg. prepared vanilla pudding
#2 1/2 can of drained, sliced peaches (3 1/2 cups or about 27 to 29 ounces)
1 box of marble cake mix

Directions
Spread prepared vanilla pudding in an ungreased 9 x 12 pan.
Arrange the drained sliced peaches on top of the pudding.
Pour cake mix batter over peaches. (Unclear if this is dry cake mix like a dump cake or prepared batter.)
Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream.
