Crab Bread
Ingredients
1 round unsliced sourdough bread bowl (2 small bread bowls of sourdough may be substituted).
3 ( 8 ounce) packages of cream cheese
2 (6 1/2 ounce) cans crab, drained
1 (4 ounce) can green chilies, chopped
4 green onions, chopped
4 tablespoons parsley, chopped
Worcestershire sauce to taste
Hot pepper sauce to taste
Directions
- Slice off the top of the bread round(s) and hollow out the inside, saving the bread and the top.
- Mix together all remaining ingredients and place mixture in the hollowed out bread bowl(s).
- Cover with reserved top.
- Wrap in heavy foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 250° for 3 hours.
- Before serving, cut up the reserved bread into cubes.
- Place bread bowl on a serving plate and surround with bread cubes.
- You may also wish to include some crackers.
Variation: Substitute 2 cans chopped clams, drained, in place of the crab. Add a small can chopped black olives.
