Anise Candy

Ingredients
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1/8 t. salt red food coloring
1/2 t. oil of Anise

Directions
Mix first four ingredients in saucepan.
Boil to hard crack stage, 290° on candy thermometer.
Add quickly few drops of red food coloring and 1/2 t. oil of Anise (more if you like a stronger flavor).
Pour in to a lightly greased metal pan, when film starts to form on top, mark pieces lightly.
As candy cools, continue marking into squares.
When cold, pieces will break apart.

Note: Oil of Anise may be obtained online.
