1/2 cup Crisco
1 cups brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 cup undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 cup sifted Gold Medal Flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup cut up pecans or moist shredded coconut or finely cut dates
or seedless raisins or 1 6oz pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces.

Mix thoroughly shortening, sugars, eggs. Stir in Carnation milk, vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, salt and stir in. Blend in pecans. Chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 375° (quick moderate). Drop rounded tsp. full 2" apart on greased baking sheet. Bake about 10 minutes until delicately browned. Frost w/ Burnt Butter Glaze (See Below).
Burnt Butter Glaze
Heat 2 TBS. butter until golden brown. Beat in until smooth 2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar and 1/4 cup undiluted Carnation milk.
