Ingredients
1 cup / 2 sticks (226g) unsalted butter, room temperature
3¾ cups (440g) confectioner's sugar
1 cup Oreo crumbs (roughly 12 Oreos, including the crème centers)
2 Tbsp milk
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Directions
In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter on medium speed for 2 minutes until creamy and pale in color.
Add the confectioner's sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
Pulse the mixer a few times so the sugar doesn't fly everywhere, then mix on low speed until all the sugar is fully incorporated.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl to catch any remaining sugar.
Increase to medium speed and mix for at least 2 minutes until the buttercream is light and fluffy.
Add the Oreo crumbs last and mix until just combined.

Don't skip crushing the Oreos with the crème filling still inside — it adds an extra layer of sweetness and that authentic cookies-and-cream flavor. A food processor makes quick work of turning them into fine crumbs. This frosting can be made a day ahead and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator; bring it back to room temperature and give it a quick re-whip before using.
