Discover a flavor-packed fusion that brings Korean-inspired excitement to the classic American comfort food. These Korean Beef Sloppy Joes marry sweet and savory hoisin sauce with tangy ketchup, fragrant sesame oil, and a hint of sriracha heat, all cradling perfectly seasoned ground beef with just the right texture. The secret lies in keeping some larger beef crumbles rather than breaking everything down too fine, creating a hearty, satisfying sandwich with excellent structural integrity. Each bite delivers layers of umami richness from the hoisin and soy sauce, balanced by rice wine vinegar's brightness and finished with fresh green onions for a crisp, aromatic accent. Served on toasted brioche rolls, these sloppy joes transform weeknight dinner into something special, ready in about 15 minutes from start to finish. Perfect for busy families craving bold Asian flavors without the takeout wait, this recipe proves that sloppy joes can be sophisticated and exciting while remaining wonderfully messy and delicious. The combination of familiar American sandwich format with Korean pantry staples creates a cross-cultural triumph that appeals to adventurous eaters and comfort food lovers alike. - Claude

Ingredients
1 1/2 lb ground beef, 85/15 fat content
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup hoisin
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
1/2 tsp sriracha
2 green onions, sliced thinly
4 brioche rolls

Directions
In a large skillet add in the beef, lower the heat to medium and cook well, breaking it apart but leaving some chunks about the size of a raspberry or small grape (do not crush the heck out of it, the larger crumbles will help give the sandwich stability).
Cook until well browned (5-6 minutes).
Add in the garlic, sesame oil, ketchup, hoisin, water, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and sriracha and stir together well until the sauce starts to evaporate and the mixture becomes "sloppy" (about 5-6 minutes).
Toast the buns then spoon over the mixture and top with green onions.
