Transform your bacon game with this deceptively simple Prison Bacon technique that yields perfectly crisp, evenly cooked strips every time. The key is baking the bacon at 400°F on parchment paper, eliminating stovetop splatter while producing uniformly cooked bacon with ideal texture. Especially effective for thick-cut varieties, this method creates tender, perfectly rendered bacon with minimal monitoring. Adapted from Martha Stewart's kitchen wisdom (and playfully renamed by friends), this foolproof approach will forever change how you prepare this breakfast staple.◽

Ingredients
Bacon, bacon, and more bacon!

Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°.
Line rimmed baking sheet or baking dish with foil (for easier cleanup) and then with parchment paper.
The parchment paper is essential!
Lay the bacon strips on the parchment paper.
Bake until crisp and browned, 15 to 18 minutes, or desired doneness.
** I have also done this in a microwave, without the foil but with the parchment paper. I usually give it 5 or 6 minutes.
Drain on wire rack. ❗This is one of those rare cases where I will also endorse draining on a paper towel. Remember that most fried foods SHOULD NOT be drained on a paper towel.

💬 Uncle Dave says...
This is especially good with thick bacon, but works for all. The bacon is very tender, and done to perfection.
Based on a Martha Stewart recipe. Renamed by friends in honor of her time in prison.
