This Mexican Seafood Cocktail combines fresh crabmeat and shrimp in a vibrant, zesty Clamato-based sauce that's perfect for casual entertaining. Ingredients
1 1/2 cups chilled Clamato juice or 1 cup tomato juice and 1/2 cup bottled clam juice
1/4 cup cocktail sauce
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 clove of garlic
1 tsp hot sauce - Tabasco
1 tsp salt or to taste
1/2 cup finely chopped white onion or 1/2 cup sliced green onion

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 diced cucumber
2 ribs of celery, diced
1 firm-ripe avocado, peeled, pitted and cut into small chunks
1/2 lb fresh lump crabmeat (1 cup)
1/4 lb cooked shrimp
Accompaniment: tortilla chips

Directions
Stir together the first 10 ingredients in a large bowl.
Gently stir in avocado, crabmeat and shrimp.
Chill.
To serve, spoon into 6- or 8-oounce glasses or cups.
Use chips to scoop.

💬 Uncle Dave says... If you like more spice, horseradish can be added. Also, this is good with just crabmeat or just shrimp. Costco has the crabmeat in a 1 lb can that is very good. I think Trader Joe's also carries it. Raw shrimp can be tossed with cumin and lime and grilled before combining with other ingredients.
