Celebrate in style with traditional Wassail Punch that combines rum, brandy, and tea with bright lemon for a festive holiday beverage! This potent yet balanced concoction features an interesting technique of rubbing sugar cubes on lemon rind to capture essential oils. Don't forget to shout wassail" when enjoying this warming drink with friends and family! A historic recipe perfect for winter gatherings and traditional holiday celebrations!"
Ingredients
3 quarts of your favorite tea. Constant Comment or a good spice tea might work well. 1 lb. sugar cubes 4 lemons 1 quart rum 1 quart brandy 1 tsp. nutmeg
Directions
Make your tea very strong. While tea is steeping, rub the sugar cubes on the lemon rinds until the yellow part has been absorbed by the sugar. Put the sugar and the juice of the lemons into a large punch bowl. Add the tea, rum, and brandy. Add the nutmeg. Mix thuroughly.
Servings\Yield
Makes about 5 quarts to serve about 30 people. Or 10 if they want to get plastered.
