This fiber-rich bread combines whole wheat bran, raisins, and pure maple syrup for natural sweetness and exceptional flavor. Ingredients
1-1/2 cups sifted flour
3 level tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups whole wheat bran
1/2 cup chopped raisins
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup shortening, melted

Directions
Sift together dry ingredients.
Add bran and raisins.
Combine egg, milk, maple syrup.
Add liquid to dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Add melted shortening.
Mix well.
Line a loaf pan with greased parchment paper.
Bake in a 350° oven for about 60 minutes.
