Ingredients
1 large egg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus extra for frying
3/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 to 5 cinnamon rolls
Directions
Beat egg lightly.
Whisk in butter, then milk, add vanilla, and finally sugar, flour, and salt.
Continue whisking until smooth.
Cut cinnamon rolls in half and soak each half for a few seconds in batter.
Drip off excess batter.
Cook in skillet with butter until golden brown on each side.
Serve with warm maple syrup and fresh berries, such as strawberries, blueberries, or with stewed fruit, such as strawberry rhubarb.
