3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
6 green plantains, peeled and cut into 1-inch slices
Cooking spray
SEASONING MIX:
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1-1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Optional: Guacamole and pico de gallo
In a large bowl, combine garlic, garlic salt and onion powder.
Add plantains; cover with cold water.
Soak for 30 minutes.
Drain plantains; place on paper towels and pat dry.
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
In batches, place plantains in a single layer on greased tray in air-fryer basket; spritz with cooking spray.
Cook until lightly browned, 10-12 minutes.
Place plantain pieces between 2 sheets of aluminum foil.
With the bottom of a glass, flatten to 1/2-in. thickness.
Increase air-fryer temperature to 400°F (205°C).
Return flattened plantains to air fryer; cook until golden brown, 2-3 minutes longer.
Combine the 4 seasoning mix ingredients; sprinkle over tostones.
Serve with optional guacamole and pico de gallo as desired.
