[This is NOT Jacques Pépin! See "Uncle Dave says..." for comments about the images.] Discover the hearty comfort of Jacques Pépin's Lima Bean, Sausage, and Bread Soup – a resourceful masterpiece perfect for unexpected guests or cozy family dinners. This rustic soup transforms humble pantry staples into a soul-warming meal. Ingredients
1 tablespoon corn oil
5 ounces kielbasa sausage, cut into ½-inch pieces
1 onion (about 4 ounces), peeled and sliced thin (¾ cup)
One 16-ounce can lima beans
3½ cups Basic Chicken Stock or canned chicken broth
2 ounces dried-out bread or rolls, broken into pieces (about 1½ cups)
Salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped flat-leaf parsley

Directions
Heat the oil in a large saucepan.
When it is hot, add the sausage and onion and sauté, covered (to prevent splatters), over medium to high heat for about 3 minutes.
Add the lima beans, with their liquid, the stock, bread pieces, pepper, and salt to taste and bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce the heat, and boil gently for about 2 minutes.
Stir the soup well and serve sprinkled with the parsley.

💬 Uncle Dave says...
This versatile soup can be made with other types of canned beans if lima beans aren't to your liking. Jacques Pépin recommends keeping kielbasa in the freezer specifically for quick soups like this one, making it perfect for impromptu meals.
About the images:
Usually, I have the AIs that format my recipes and do some other processing either create the image or create a prompt for other AIs to create an image.
This time, however, I gave the ingredients, directions, and other recipe information directly to all of my AIs, with no guidance other than to create an image of the resulting recipe.
Most of them gave me images of bowls of soup. Meta AI, however, gave me four images of a faux Jacques Pépin admiring the soup. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 I included the best one!
