Ingredient Substitutions:
If you can't find dried bell pepper flakes, substitute with dried red bell pepper or even a small amount of sweet paprika (about ½ teaspoon) for color and mild sweetness.
Celery seed can be quite strong, so start with less and adjust to taste. If unavailable, you can omit it or use a tiny pinch of celery salt (reducing the added salt accordingly).
For more authentic flavor, add a drop of olive oil to the mix for better adherence to foods.

Usage Ideas:
This blend works great as a rub for meats, poultry, and seafood, seasoning for roasted or grilled vegetables, or mixed with oil and vinegar for a marinade (2 tablespoons seasoning + ½ cup oil + 2 tablespoons vinegar). You can also sprinkle it on French fries, baked potatoes, or pasta.
