This Hot Gingered Fruit transforms ordinary canned fruit salad into an elegant side dish or dessert with minimal effort. The brown sugar and ginger create a rich, spiced syrup that infuses the fruit with complex flavor as it bakes. The contrast of warm fruit and cool serving temperature makes this versatile dish perfect alongside ham or turkey, or served with ice cream for a simple yet sophisticated dessert. Ingredients
2 cans fruit salad (large pieces)
1/4 c.. butter
1/2 t. ginger
3/4 c. brown sugar

Directions
Drain syrup from the fruit salad and reserve 3 T. syrup.
Dry fruit on paper towels.
Arrange in 2 qt. casserole.
Melt butter, stir in reserved syrup and sugar.
Heat.
Pour over fruit.
Bake at 325° for 40 minutes.
Servings\Yield
Makes a 2 qt casserole, serves 6-8 as a side or dessert
